Air Fryer Monster Cookies
Looking for something delicious to do with all that leftover Halloween candy? Look no further.
I am a sucker for cookies. No matter how my taste preferences change, they will forever be one of my favorite foods.
And, because I love chocolate so much, these monster cookies are a top favorite of mine. They use chocolate chips and leftover Halloween candy to give ya so much chocolatey goodness in every bite.
While you can make these in an oven, I loved the idea of an air fryer version.
I don’t know about you, but I use my air fryer for everything. It’s just so much faster than the oven and cooks everything so well. (If you’re in the market, I swear by this one!).
But, I had yet to make dessert in the air fryer and wanted to give it a try. I love that it makes these cookies even easier to make. One bowl. One air fryer. No cookie sheet to clean and preheating the oven.
Now, let’s talk about the result. Because WOW these are good.
They took me a few times to perfect, because the texture is cookies is important, ya know?
They end up a little crispy on the outside and super gooey in the middle. Of course, if you want to make them gooey-er, just cook them for a little less time.
Mix butter, sugar and an egg
In a large bowl, add 1 stick of melted butter, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, sugar, and one egg. Mix well.
Add dry ingredients
Add flour, baking soda, and salt to the bowl and mix well to combine.
Fold in chocolate chips and chocolate candy.
Roll the dough
Line the air fryer with parchment paper. Using your hands, roll the dough into large balls, about the size of a small fist. Do not flatten them.
Air fry for 8-10 min
Air-fry on 350 F for about 8-10 minutes, until cooked through.
Everything else you need to know
Candy: I used a mix of chocolate chips, M&Ms and chopped Reese’s. Use any chocolate candy you have! I’d recommend things Kit Kats, Snickers or Twix. Roughly chop them before mixing them in.
Oven: While I haven’t tried these in the oven, they should be able to be cooked there. Increase the temperature to 375 F and try cooking for a little longer - around 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through. Alternatively, you can also try this oven-based monster cookie recipe from the blog!
Storage: You can make this dough in advance and store it in the freezer for up to 3 months. Store fully cooked cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
